First Ride of the Season

A couple of days ago I went for the first ride of this season. When I say ride, I don’t mean climb two mountains and do 180km. What I mean is that I left the tame neighbourhood of Colindale, cycled down Edgware Road (A5), turned left through Maida Vale and got to Regents Park. There my riding mate Angelos was waiting. After we complimented each other on our beautiful bikes and nice gear we decided to start riding. We did a couple of easy laps then we put a couple of harder ones and then we decided to stop for coffee.

We were a bit peckish and we thought that a bit of overpriced food would be good for us. We had some catching up to do so the coffee stop was longer than anticipated. Still, after that we decided to do another couple of laps and then headed home. Somehow we did more laps than planned and eventually I rode nearly 60km. I was not expecting more than 40-45km so in the end I was quite knackered.

Anyway, first ride of the season done. That was the hard bit. Now, we need good weather; yes, I know that’s a bit hard in England. I hope, at least.
