De Ronde van Vlaanderen
I am watching the Tour of Flanders as I type this post and I can see that things don’t seem to be going well for Trek Factory Racing team. First Stijn Devolder, Gregory Rast and Yaroslav Popovych crash.
Then, Devolder crashes again and we hear that Popo is out. Then Gregory Rast is out, too. Then Devolder crashes again. Then 11km to the finish line Fabian Cancellara finds himself in front of the race, by 10-15 seconds, with 4 more riders. So Cancellara and three Van’s (Vanmarcke, Van Avermaet and Vandenbergh; all Belgians) are leading the race. Kristoff is off the chasing group trying to bridge the gap. Tepstra joins him and the chase together.
In the meantime up ahead the 4 leaders are playing cat and mouse. Attacks and counter-attacks and this way they reach the 2km mark. Then they all sit down and wait to see who goes first. Eventually at 300m to go Cancellara went for the finish… and he took it! What a finish!
So, things didn’t turn out that bad for Trek Factory Racing, after all.
