So… Froome will win the Tour, then. Right?
Yesterday, Chris Froome (SKY) won the Dauphiné. This 8 stage race is considered by many as the mini-Tour. Most punters believe that lately it has been showing the year’s Tour de France winner. Looking at the results, you can’t really argue.
I know that in this year’s race there were some absentees (notably Alberto Contador), but Froome showed that he is in great form. If he was not at his absolute peak the last few days and he will peak during the Tour, then we should expect some fireworks. I mean, in the last 2 days of the Dauphiné, he was so strong that nobody could follow. On the mountains Vangarderen, Nibali, Bardet and Valverde were there, but not really.
I have to admit that Contador won the Giro, so he is in great form, but he might be a bit too tired in France. Only time will tell. I think it will be an exciting Tour this year!
